BLITZIN THE USA

Players from the Inverness Blitz Academy of American Football are getting the opportunity to put their American Football skills to the test when they fly out on the 23 rd of February to Florida to take on some USA teams on their own turf.

The players selected to go are all from the junior Highland Wildcats team, one of the performance level teams from the Inverness Blitz.

Most of the games will take place in the Orlando area of Florida and will include the formidable Denn John Dragons along with several teams from Bear Creek, also on the itinery for the UK based team will be a couple of games in Inverness, Florida.

Coach Robbie Paulin of the Highland Wildcats said "As well as getting the players some top quality competition we are also giving them the opportunity to see how big the game is in the States and at the same time we are forging valuable links with teams and coaches from the USA ".

This is the second USA trip for the Inverness Blitz and following the success of the first trip the Blitz will be hosting one of the teams from the USA later on this year in June, when Coach Nagle takes over a team from Bear Creek.

As well as competing in the games the players all aged 12-13 can also look forward to watching a professional game through in Tampa Bay and will be given the opportunity to meet some of the players and see around the stadium.
