RAMS CHAMPIONSHIP HEARTACHE PT 2

The Scots immediately hit back when two powerful runs from Donaldson, brought the Scots inside the Cardinals half of the field, but was brought back after a holding penalty.

Then the Rams were victims of what can only be described as daylight robbery, when Donaldson turned on the speed once again down field into the end zone, but the touchdown was cancelled out for a supposed holding penalty – despite the fact that the officials on the side line could not tell the Rams coaches, who the culprit was.

That decision seemed to fire the Scots up even more and soon tied the scoring, when Donaldson blasted through the middle for a one yard score, which was then converted by Kyle Matheson to give them a two point lead.

The Cardinals were struggling to mount an effective response on their next drive, having to punt away possession, giving the Rams a new set of downs, deep in their own half.

Then on the next play, Donaldson was denied another score to add to his stats, courtesy of the match officials, after another incredible piece of running, sprinting almost two thirds of the field into the end zone.

But the play was called back once again, this time for a block in the back penalty.

Then into the second quarter, the Rams offensive machine was in trouble, when the Cardinals stepped the pressure on defense, forcing Kevin McElhinney to fumble the ball which was recovered by Onditi.

The Rams managed to hold the English at bay with another big defensive stand off, but the pressure was back on their offense again, following a sack on Rams Quarterback, McElhinney, resulting in a Lanarkshire punt.

Then after less than impressive first half by the match officials, the game briefly descended in to farce, when both teams were given an unscheduled break minutes from half time, when the referee had to leave the field to move his car to another side of the stadium after it was announced that the stadiums officials were going to lock the far side car park.

And with now let up on the sweltering heat, the Rams decided to take full advantage of the situation, joining their supporters in the sheltered enclosure and indulge in some community singing.
