USA Bound

Lee Collins and Gary Clark of the Clyde Valley Hawks american football team are of on the trip of a life time .Lee has been over to the states before to Pitsburgh and enjoyed it so much that he desided to try to go back again .

This is Gary Clarks first time and they are both going to Wisconsin to Lake land college.Both players are senior players with the Hawks and both play linebacker.Lee has played with the hawks since they started and Gary joined the Hawks after starting his career with the Inverclyde Sharks .

FUN INDEPENDANCE DAY

The Clyde Valley american football team held there Independance Day inter club tournament on Sunday at the Beltane playing field in Wishaw The winner of the longeat throw was Falcons Jamie wier with a distance of 41 yards Jamie actualy plays centre for the Falcons .

The winner of the longest field goal was Coach Gillespie who kicked a 35 yarderto win at the end.

The inter club tourney involved the Predators,under 11s,Falcons,Hawks A ,Hawks B and the old boys (the coaches)with the coaches being beaten thanks to some dogey refereeing by Gillian Orr (Predators players mum) the Predators and the old boys knocked each other out in the count back which left the Final between the Hawks (all blacks) and the Falcons .This time it was the Hawks who had to give ground to youth as the younger boys ran them off the field winning the final 21 to 6

A great day was had by all the boys as the youth got to meet their heroes in the Hawks and finish the day off with a joint Baseball game .Colin would like to thank all the committee members who helped to make it a great success .
