SCHOOLS FOOTBALL PROGRAM
First ever competitive
game between two high schools in Dundee took place at St Johns High School.
Dundee High took on
St Johns Eagles. Dundee High looking to build from there first game v
Monifieth before christmas and St Johns participating in the first ever
competitive game.
Both teams were evenly
matched for most of the 1st half, with Dundee and St Johns trading scores.
Dundee holding a 2
point lead (14-12) with 4 minutes left in the half. Miscues from Dundee
and good execution from St Johns, allowed the hosts to finish up the half
with a 27-14 lead.
In the 2nd half, St
Johns made their adjustments and continued to increase their lead, with
32 unanswered points.
Finishing the game
with a convincing 59-14 win. Despite the score line, Dundee High never
gave up, despite visiting with only 5 players.
Both teams now look
forward to this weekends World Schools Flag Football qualifiers at St
Johns High School, where they will compete against two teams from Braeview
Academy. Kick-off is 10am.
Inverness Blitz will
also be hosting the only other scottish qualifier on the same day, with
the winner from each qualifier competing in the UK Finals in Woodham on
the 19th May.
