HURRICANES OPEN THEIR GRIDIRON
GATES
Dundee
Hurricanes are looking for new players of all ages and abilities to attend
their "Come & Try" sessions at Dawson Park.
The sessions originally
started on the 16th Oct and continue this Sunday and running each Sunday
throughout November and December, the Hurricanes hope to unearth the next
star player.
Although the season
does not start until March/April, the Hurricanes believe that the earlier
they start unearthing a new crop of star players, the better prepared
the team will be come kick-off time in the new year.
Although the team originally started up as a youth team in 1993, they
have been competing as a senior team for the last 3 years.
Director of Football
"Bruce Foster" said; "We have been hoping to re-establish
our grassroots programme for some time and we see these Come & Try
sessions as the first step in addressing this issue. We need players of
all ages from 8 yrs up to over 18's to compete with our existing players.
No matter what you ability or knowledge is of the sport. If you fancy
trying it, then come along and give it a go".
The Hurricanes boast
a coaching staff with a combination of over 75 years of experience.
Bruce added; "If
you dont know how to play and want to learn, then our coaching staff will
be more than happy to work with you".
Its not just players that are required. If anyone is interested in helping
with coaching or assisting in the operation of the team, they are encouraged
to attend Sundays sessions.
All weekly sessions
start at 11 am and any necessary equipment will be provided by the team.
Just come along with appropriate training footwear and clothing.
