Dundee got their 2004 home campaign
off to a winning start at the weeked toppling the Edinburgh Wolves
at Dawson Park.
Having played out a draw against Doncaster last
week, the Wolves came looking to get their first win.
But it was Dundee quarterback Bruce Thomson who opened the scoring
when he found his younger brother, Fraser from 27 yards out to open
the scoring in the first quarter. He then ran in the 2 point conversion.

In the second quarter Hurricanes DE Stewart Adam
extended the scoreline, when he tackled a Wolves RB in the end zone
for a safety. Both defenses continued to play hard to finish the
half with Dundee holding a 10-0 lead.
In
the third quarter the Wolves got on the board when Jim Adams connected
with David Molloy for a 32 yard score, David also ran in the 2PAT.
This closed the gap. But the Hurricanes wrapped up the scoring and
the game when Back-up QB Alex Brannan plunged over from a yard late
in the third.
Defenses dominated most of the game with Dundee
benefiting from 5 interceptions. Safety Fraser Thomson gaining 3
pick on the day, but it was Edinburgh's final possession with 1:37
left that sealed the win for Dundee with their first play of the
drive was intercepted by CB Ryan Crighton. Allowing Dundee to run
out the clock.
