FALCONS HAVING A "BOWL"
IN INVERCLYDE !!!!!!!!!

The Clyde Valley Falcons went to the Inverclyde Bowl on Saturday the 22nd of August needing to win only one game of the three played at a tournament to retain the Scottish Title .

Their first game was against the Inverness Wildcats and turned into a close game .

The Falcons went ahead with the first score from youngster Anthony McCallum but missed the 2 pointer .

The defence stepped up and stopped Invermess with some form tackling from Michael Orr and his hard hitting Defence .

Next to score was Craig Samuel with a great pass from Nick Farrell at QB but again the 2 pointer was missed . This was enough for the Falcons to go in 12 v 0 at the half.

In the 2nd half Inverness put up a fight to make the game a close finish. Scores from Samuels and Filmer let the Falcons win 25 v 22 . This gave them the championship.

Next up was the Inverclyde Pheonix . This was the host team and they had run the Falcons close at the last tournament therefore fancied an upset .

In the end it was a 36 v 20 victory to the Falcons with scores from Filmer , Farrell,Samuel,Sinclair and Mulheron.

This was enough with the defence having yet another unforgiving game withe Fallon and Orr making some great stops .

The  Wolves were the final hurdle of the day for the Falcons . Coaches Gillespie and Farrell decided that it was the turn of next years team to get a chance to show what they had and this they did admirably.

Mark McCallum caught his first TD  from a great pass from youngster Sidey.

Wolves were not taking this lying down and took the lead in the first dives .But with Samuel , Filmer and A. McCallum Scoring the Falcons got to win the game 27 v 20 .

The Falcons M.V.P.s were Nicky Farrell for the Defence and Anthony McCallum for the offence .

The Falcons now lifted the Inverclyde Bowl and were in the end worthy winners . Coach Gillespie was delighted for the boys and Said "Well done lads . Scottish retained now lets focus on the British "
