Falcons Win Bragging rights

The Clyde Valley Falcons took to the road for the second weekend in a row .Last weekend they went South to Birmingham to play in and win the British title at 5 man football.

This week it was North to Inverness to take on the Wildcats at 9 man football .

True to form the weather started nice but by the end of the game both team were getting just a little bit wet .

This is the 2nd time this year that the Falcons and the Wildcats have clashed .The last visit saw the Falcons shut out the wildcats 18 to 0 .This time it was a shut out again but a lot harder battle.

The game kicked off with the Ryan Rodger of the Falcons receiving the ball on the 20 yard line and follow some great blocking to take the ball all the way to the Wildcats 30 yard line .

The Falcons moved the ball with runs from Nichol 21 and Macmillan 81 up to the 6 yard line only to have it striped by the Wildcats.

It was the turn of the now well known Fighting Falcons Defence to step up and halt the Wildcats

.Both teams defences kept the game at half time to a nil nil score line.
In the second half the tied score line was broken when Game MVP Macmillan 81 for the Falcons took the ball for a 45 yard run

Macmillan said "The back can only play as well as his blockers and the line along with some key blocks from fellow running back Kyle and Harrison allowed me to open the scoring .The point after was missed by Andrew Scot .

In the forth quarter with the Wildcats driving Jamie weir (NG) burst through the line and forced a fumble which was recovered by Jamie Dickie .

The game ended with the Wild cats throwing a hail Mary pass which Nichol picked off to finish the game ..

Both teams coaches said that the boys played the game in a good spirited manner and are a credit to the sport .

The Falcons would like to thank Inverness for there hospitality and to both sets of Cheerleaders for there vocal support .Finally the Falcons again would like to thank there sponsors Davidsons Animal Feed .
