Falcons Still Top

Clyde Valley Falcons American football team set off on an epic journey to Sheffield at the weekend, they went down to play in the Heeley Tomahawks tournament .

The tournament had 6 teams competing. The Falcons, The Tigers , The Rams , The Pumas ,The Panthers and the host team the Tomahawks.

The first Falcons game was against the Yorkshire Rams whom they beat with a score of 40 v 06.This was down to some power running by Graeme Macmillan 81# and Blake Kyle 58# .Graeme got game Most Valuable player.

Then it was the turn of the host team the Tomahawks to take on the Falcons yet again the running was to strong for them.

This was also helped by some good decision from new Quarter back William Winter .This time it was Blake Kyle 58# who got Game MVP.

The next game against Paisley caught the Falcons sleeping and they found themselves
6 v 0 down .However this was soon rectified by the power running game of the Falcons and they scored 42 unanswered points to come out on top 42 v 06.

This time it was William Winter 11 who got MVP.

The pumas were next but after finding themselves 12 v 0 down after 2 drives they decided to retire from the game and give it to the Falcons. Graeme Macmillan 81# once again got MVP.

Then after some lengthily delay of nearly 1 hour and the games being cut to 10 minute halves the big crunch match took place against the Tigers .The Falcons came out still half asleep and were stopped on the 2 yard line giving the Tigers the ball.

They also run power football and opened the scoring to go 6 v 0 up .They again got the ball back after some great tip balls at the end zone by the de backs. In the second half the Falcons went to the air with William winter completing a 40 yard pass to the safe hands of Chriss McCrum.

The game finished with the Tigers wining 12 v 6 and winning the tournament.

This leaves both teams on 7 points with the Falcons being ahead on points for and against.
The stage is set for a return match on the 11th of June when the Falcons will travel to Glasgow for the Tigers tournament.

Coach Mac would like to thank Heather winter and Richard Orr for all the help with the organising .He would also like to thank the Cheerleaders for a very good job in cheering on the boys.
