SAU Pop Warner 2003 Bannerman v Clyde ValleyFalcons Swoop on Wildcats

Clyde Valley Falcons 38 – Bannerman Wildcats 0

Falcons travelled to Inverness on Sunday to take on Bannerman Wildcats.

Although Wildcats were seriously undermanned the played the game with heart. Falcons started with the ball and drove solidly downfield with John Minto capping the drive with a 5yard running play for the score.

The extra point was wide left. All rounder Minto, playing on defence, gave passion back to the CV when he intercepted a wayward pass.

David Orr made the Wildcats pay for the turnover when he scrambled over from the 13 yard line for Falcons next TD. Minto slotted the ball through the uprights for the extra 2 points.

An error by Bannerman on the ensuing kick off gave the ball back to the Falcons. However QB David Orr was intercepted by Wildcat Kris Henderson but a dominant Falcons defence did not allow them to progress the ball.

CV progressed upfield on complete pass to Graeme MacMillan and Colin Nicol increased the score when he took the reverse handoff and sprinted 11 yards for the TD. Minto kicked the extra points.

At the start of the second half Nicol increase the lead further when he scored on a running play. Andrew Scott caught the ball in the endzone for the extra 2 points.

Although offensively Bannerman were unable to make much progress Kris Henderson gave them hope on defence when he picked off his 2nd interception of the day.

Possesion however returned to Falcons and Blake Kyle ended the days scoring with a blistering 10 yard run. Minto added the extra points. Falcons MVP’s were, on defence Ryan Rodger and on offence Jamie Weir.
