FALCONS FLEDGLINGS
COME OF AGE

The Clyde Valley Falcons
American football team took on the Bannerman Wildcats at the Heathery
playing fields on Sunday the 23rd.
The Falcons are looking
to build a new squad of players for next years season as we lose 8 players
to the hawks this year.
The game kicked off
at 1 o'clock and just 30seconds later a hand off left to Blake Kyle seen
the Falcons pick up where they left off last season with a touch down
.
The 2 pointer was
good with Chriss McCrum pulling in the pass from William Winter.
It was the turn of
the swarming defence Nichol,Macmillan ,Kyle, Weir and Ivison to take to
the field and just two plays later Ivison forced a fumble which the Falcons
recoveredto give the ball back to the offence.
This set the pattern
for the first period with the Wildcats unable to move the balland with
the Falcons 24 points up it was the turn of the Fledglings to take to
the field .
They played well and
even although they gave up 3 touch downs they scored 2 themselves .At
the end of this period the scores were Falcons 36 v 24 up .
In the final period
the old and the new mixed together and with William Winter catching a
pass from Alan Harrison ,Graeme Macmillan rumbling in on a sweep .
Chris McCrum pulling
in a pass,Declan Morton scoring on a run up the middle and finally Colin
Nichol running back a 2 point interception the Falcons ran out comfortable
