RAMS
CONFIDENT OF ANOTHER UPSET
North
Lanarkshire Rams remain confident that they can pull of a memorable
double whammy over their local rivals and reigning British Youth
Champions, Clyde Valley Hawks tomorrow (Sunday 22), when the two
sides clash in the penultimate round of this years BYAFA Youth Kitted
Championship at Wishaw’s Beltane Playing Fields.
Having been
overpowered by the Hawks in the first game of the season, the Rams
finally ended Clyde Valley’s two and a half year dominance
of the British League last month with a 14-12 victory at Cumbernauld.
The winners
of tomorrows clash will guarantee a place in the BYAFA Youth Kitted
Final at Dewsbury on September 5th.
And even though
the Hawks, with home advantage will come into this game as firm
favourites to reach their second successive national final, the
Rams are optimistic that they can re write the form books once again.
Said Team Spokesman
Alfie Betts: "The first game of the season wasn`t a true reflection
of how the Rams are as a team, and bares no resemblance to the strong
unit that the Rams have now become."
" The second
game of the season saw a hard fought 14 –12 victory for the
Rams. Now Sunday will break the tie."
"Like
all team at this time of year the Rams have their share of walking
wounded. But come Sunday they will spring into life giving their
all to fight for the win and a place in the British Youth Kitted
final on the 5th of September."
"This
year it`s being played in Dewsbury at the Rams stadium, the stadium
has the teams name on it, we only hope the trophy has too. "
"All the
Rams hard work and success has been achieved not only by the players,
but by the teams only two coaches, Darryn Traynor and (Andrew MacIntosh)
Andy Mac."
"If there
is any justice in football Darryn Traynor will surely be recognised
as coach of the year".
