U.N READY TO WHIP UP A STORM
Dundee
Hurricanes, 2 weeks ahead of their opening game have sign a number of
standout players from the Stirling Clansmen.
The Hurricanes now
resemble the United Nation with 7 nationalities represented. WR Carlos
Yanes-Roca (Spaniard), DB's Jeff Bryan (Canadian) & Jorge Fonseca-Mandrigal
(Mexican), LB Iain Smith (Scottish) and WR Jonathan Nelson.
Returning from last year are RB Mohammadou Lamine-Niakate (French), LB
Tim Watson (American) and DE Matt Villa (New Zealand).
QB Bruce Thomson will lead the offence under new O Co-Ordinator Alec Brannan.
Stepping up from youth football is Dundee local WR Ben Hann, who played
for the Clyde Valley Hawks.
One rookie to keep an eye on is 6' 9" OL Mark Hamilton. Weighing
in at 18 1/2 stone and is the younger brother of returning TE Rikki Hamilton.
Defense will see Div 2 2004 Ints leader Fraser Thomson lead them, along
with Tim Watson and veteran Def lineman Stewart Adam and George Brand.
Opening game is against the newly formed West Coast Trojans on the 10th
April at Dawson Park. 2.30pm kick-off.
Head Coach Bruce Foster said " This is a formidable team given the
pedigree of a number of their players. They may be the new team on the
block, but they certainly wont be playing like it. We are not taking them
or anyone else lightly"
