INVERCLYDE BOWL - GAME ON

GLASGOW TIGERS V YORKSHIRE RAMS
This game would
mean nothing to the Tigers in terms of the league, but with the
Inverclyde Bowl up for grabs, there was still plenty to play for.
And the Glasgow
side made their presence felt early with Derek Connor finding the
endzone on their opening drive
But the Rams
hit back on their first possession when Quarterback Jamie Whithan
picked off Danny Wardell for six points.
The Yorkshire
soon increased their lead when Andy Binns ran up the middle for
another score and added a successful extra point conversion to give
the Rams a 14-6 lead at the break.
Things looked
promising for the Tigers at the start of the second half when a
powerful drive from Andrew Burns, brought the Tigers in sight of
the Rams goal line.
But the Glasgow
side failed to finish the drive off in style and were forced to
turnover possession to the English.
The
momentum swung back in favour of the Tigers when an interception
gave the Scots good field position, with a Kevin Connolly touchdown
catch along with a two point conversion brought them back into the
game.
But Binns had
other ideas with running the full length of the field for another
six points, with James Firth adding a successful two point conversion.
The match was
set for a grandstand finish when Nick Halfpenny reduced the deficit
with another touchdown but the Rams did enough to hold on for a
close victory
