NFL
KICK OFF WEEKEND PT2

Despite the strong
team performance from the Raiders one of the key players behind
there success yesterday, was 15 year old, Thomas "The Tank" (A Tabloid
Writer's Dream) McLean , who's power running proved to be more than
a handful for the opposition, finding the end zone on a number of
occasions.
The Gourock High
Schoolboy, like many youngsters around the country became hooked
on the sport by watching the Claymores at Hampden Park and hopes
to establish a professional career in the backfields.
Despite having been
involved in the game a short time, he is already earmarked as a
future key player in the Sharks line up.
Coming into yesterday's
contest, McLean had been reaping the benefits in his development
as a player learning his trade with the Raiders/Sharks management
team and recently attended the Claymores Summer Coaching Programme.
And not even broken
bones was going to put him off from playing at Scotstoun.
He said: "I
fractured a cheek bone at school earlier in the week when some one
hit me with a hockey stick in PE. I asked the Doctors if I
would be able to play on Sunday and he said that it was up to me."
At the age of 15,
the young Full back has got plenty of time on his side if he decides
to pursue dream career in the professional ranks, but has already
considered stepping up to the next level as a member of the Sharks
squad next year.
He said: "I
am thinking about stepping up, but I will probably do another year
at junior level if I can and get in some more experience first."
