NORTHERN TOURNAMENT
IS A BIG SUCCESS

The Northern Junior Kitted tournament kicked off with a bang on Sunday 26th of March .
Clyde Valley Falcons ,Glasgow Tigers and Paisley Panthers all made the long journey North to Inverness to play the first tournament of the year .

All of the teams had lost players because of age limits from last year and were all waiting to see what kind of opposition would be met this year.

Clyde Valley (Defending British Champions ) started well against a physical Paisley side and won 18 points to 6 with Chris McCrum named MVP for this game.

Then it was the turn of Glasgow B who the Falcons put to flight with a landslide 34 to 0 With Darren Sharp getting the MVP in this one .

The home team Inverness were up next and a fantastic hard hitting winner takes all battle commenced with Angus McKintosh scoring first then Clyde Valley through McCrum levelling the score .

It went on to finish with the Falcons unable to score on the last play finishing on the Inverness 7 yard line .The final score was Inverness 18 to Falcons 12.

The last game was a clash with last years winners and runners up Clyde Valley v The Tigers.

Again this game kicked off with some ferocious tackling and some hard nosed running from both teams with the Tigers coming out on to winners 21 to 12 .

The games were all played in good spirit with Tigers A winning the tournament .

Coach Mac said "This year will be a real tussle back and forth if the standard of the teams who took part is anything to go by .It could be anybodies at the end of the year "

All of the teams congratulated Inverness on a very well run tournament

The overall MVP for the tournament was Invernesses Angus McKintosh who is a player to watch for the future.
