Falcons v RamsFALCONS CONTINUE TO WIN

Pop Warner American Football

Clyde Valley Falcons 24
North Lanarkshire Rams 8

Falcons travelled to Cambuslang on Sunday to take on the Rams. The field condition made any kind of passing game virtually impossible and the quagmire also limited the running game.

Falcons gave the Rams excellent field position however the CV defence were strong and did not allow the Rams much progress. North Lanarkshire did pin the Falcons at their own 10 yard line.

Following a fierce tackle, Falcon’s QB David Orr fumbled the ball, although Falcons recovered the ball, it was in their own endzone and Rams quickly downed the player for a safety.

On the next drive the Rams drove the ball upfield and this effort was rewarded with a TD.

The Falcons came straight back to reduce the deficit to 2 when Graeme MacMillan took the reverse handoff and barrelled his way to the endzone for the TD.

Clyde Valley’s domination of the game started in the second half.

Fraser Anderson took the kick off and ran 45 yards upfield to the Rams 5 yard line. Scott Findlay finished the drive when he took the pitch from QB Orr and had a tackle-breaking run for the TD.

The Falcon’s defence did not allow the Rams to make much offensive progress.

The next score came when MacMillan took the ball on a reverse handoff and battled his way 40 yards to the endzone. MacMillan made it three for the day when he carried the ball 15 yards for the final score.

Next week the Falcons travel to Kilsyth to take on Glasgow Tigers.
