On
Sunday the 19th September 2003, a cold Autumn day. 12 teams
across the flag football spectrum converged on Tollcross Park
to contest this years SAU Bowl. There was a total of 85 male
and female players from ages 6 to 17 participating in the
day's event.
The cadet level teams were Grangemouth
Broncos, Alexandra Raptors, Glasgow Tigers A & B and Glasgow
Hornets.
The Junior level teams were Junior teams,
Grangemouth Broncos, Carluke Predators, Glasgow Tigers, Glasgow
Hornets & Graeme High Titans. The Youth Teams were Graeme
High Titans and Glasgow All Stars.
Each age level played a round robin tournament
with the outright winner lifting the respective SAU Bowl Trophy.
At cadet level Grangemouth dominated the
competition. Leaving the other four teams to slug it out in
the trenches which produced some excitingly close games. In
particular the Raptor Tigers A game which was decided by 2 pts.
