Tommy Cooper was one of those rare breed of comic talents, who did not need a script to have his audiences in stitches.  He only had to look at you with his traditional “heh heh” and he would have audiences roaring with laughter.

Add that along with the trademark of his traditional Fez and his endless number of magic tricks you were guaranteed an hour of hilarity on the small screen.

It has been almost two decades since the comic genius passed into the great music hall in the sky.  Since that time, many pretenders have tried to plug the void he left but have failed.

Now audiences have a chance to take in some of the classic moments from the master of mirth at his best with the release of a new video, Tommy Cooper – the Best of the Fez.

Even though he was an actual member of the Magic Circle, this latest release shows Cooper swimming against the tide battling with endless magical disasters with celebrity assistants including Eric Sykes who features in a brilliant levitation stunt.

As well as his “magic” skills, Cooper displays his quick fire with appearing with more celebrity stooges like Ronnie Barker and Corbett, Diana Dors and Arthur Lowe.

For those who grew up with this comic genius this video takes a trip back to a golden era of comedy that despite being round twenty years old still stands the test of time.
