He's back!!!!!!!!   By Charlie McGroarty

In this his first UK video in over a decade, Englebert treats the Palladium audience to a great night's entertainment which covers the mans career in music (so far) from RELEASE ME to his most recent chart success HOW TO WIN YOUR LOVE and comes highly recommended to anyone who loves quality entertainment.

The video starts with a brief journey through the WEST END before arriving in the auditorium, just as the curtains rise on a VEGAS-STYLE overture introducing the man himself to a tumultuous welcome from a capacity audience.

This is his full American show; so expect lots of glitz and glamour.

Glamour comes in the form of his 2 backing singers and the glitz in the form of a tremendous light show.

Even though his attempt at stand up falls a little flat, that is just a minor point in a video, which will find its way onto a lot of Christmas lists this year-AND SO IT SHOULD!!!!!!!

Musically, Mr Humperdinck is in fine voice covering all styles of material from Rock and Roll to the Latin Beat via Ballads and a fair sprinkling of the hits and oldies that got him to where he is today.

As an added bonus, he introduces his special guest to the proceedings, his daughter LOUISE DORSEY who does a very good version of Tina Arena's Heaven Help My Heart. Look out for her a solo success in the near future.

Even the Audience get a chance to show of what they can do when they take over on vocals on the chorus of his classic THE LAST WALTZ - and they do it remarkably well.

The whole concert comes to an end with the song that started it all off for him back in January 1967 RELEASE ME and it still sounds good today, so many years later.

For an encore, he leaves the place in a party mode with a rip-roaring version of the Mavericks DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY and the audience oblige -in the aisles-at their seats-EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!

Well the question is after a break of 12 years without a UK video release, has the wait been worth it?? My answer is most definitely - YES.

It’s a video you'll want to watch again and again.
