Ever since Channel Four locked up a group of individuals in a house for a couple of months in Big Brother, we have developed into a nation of voyeurs.
Like any soap opera, millions of us tuned in to see the underdogs triumph, the villains brought to account and for those masochists amongst us, we were addicted to watching tears tantrums and certain people making fools of themselves in front of a hidden audience.
However that has been with members of the public - with celebrities - it is much better.
Depending on who the celebrity is, we enjoy seeing them away from their usual persona, being put under the cosh.
So after the success of the last Celeb Big Brother, the TV powers that be must have been wondering what other kind of punishments could we inflict on C List Celebs - Why not drop them deep in the Jungle?
As a result, former Boxer, Nigel Benn, Model, Nell McAndrew, Comedienne, Rhona Cameron, Logtastic DJ Tony Blackburn, Singer, Darren Day, “It Girl”, Tara Palmer Tomkinson, Christine “the battleaxe” Hamilton and Spoon Bender, come Psychic and best friend of Michael Jackson Uri Geller were dropped in the Australian Bush for fortnight left at the mercy of the great British Public.
Add a mixture of snakes, scorpions, creepy crawlies and other assorted creature of the night, you end up with one of the hits of the year - I’m a Celebrity - Get me out of here!!!!!!!!!!
Now we can relive the bonding, tears, tantrums and arguments - and that was just Tara and Darren in this latest video and DVD release from VCI.
