Chart Topping Girl Band “Girls Aloud may have had some mixed publicity during the past twelve months, but NADINE COYLE, SARAH HARDING, NICOLA ROBERTS, CHERYL TWEEDY and KIMBERLEY WALSH is set to Rock Hampden Park this Sunday (April 18th) and indulge in some American Razzamataz, when they kick start the Scottish Claymores NFL Europe Home games at Hampden Park

Previous Claymores seasons have been launched by stars such as Bob Geldorf and Deacon Blue.

Now the winners of the hit TV series, Pop Stars – The Rivals, will jet into Scotland to perform some of their best-known hits at the Claymores home opening fixture against the Amsterdam Admirals, during the Claymores Clyde 1 Pre-Game Party and Miller Beer Half-time Show at the National Stadium.

However, the all-girl group have promised there won't be any repeat of Janet Jackson's recent exploits at the Super Bowl, and have vowed their American football act will be strictly for a family audience.

Band member KIMBERLEY WALSH, said: "We can't wait to get in front of the
Claymores crowd to get their new season started. We've heard the Claymores
fans in Scotland make some noise! We love to play live so we're going to
do our best to put on a great show for them."

Fellow group member CHERYL TWEEDY, admits that she is a big fan of
American football - particularly of the hunks on the field - but also
enjoys all of the American-style razzmatazz too.

Cheryl said: "We stayed up late a few months ago to watch the Super Bowl
half-time show - which was an amazing event. We're told the Claymores
games are a scaled down version, but we're looking forward to getting
involved with all of the razzmatazz that everyone associates with American
football games - who knows, we might even try our hand at a little
cheerleading!"

The girls will take to the stage inside the stadium at the Clyde 1 West Stand Festival from 12:50pm performing a live four-song set including the song that launched their career, “Sound or the Underground”.

The girls will also take to the stage to perform two songs at midfield
during the Miller Half-time Show.

Claymores General Manager STEVE LIVINGSTONE, said: "We're really looking forward to having Girls Aloud get our party started at Hampden on Sunday.

Coming to a Claymores game is a great-value, all-day entertainment
experience for all the family, and the Girls Aloud concert is all part of
a typical entertainment at our home games."

Other acts set for future Claymores games include Jamelia who will play the Claymores second home game of the season on May 2 followed by D-Side on May 9, local rock heroes Speedway on May 29 and local boy, Daruis on June 5.
