The Glasgow Tigers are beginning preparations for
the 2004 BSL Division2 season and hope to build on the good progress
they have made in the last few years. Based
at Cambuslang Rugby Club in the Southside of Glasgow, last Sunday
saw the first outdoor practice of the year with a lot of veterans
returning and a good crop of graduating Youth players.
The ambitious outfit have recently put together
a long term development plan and are looking to reap the benefits
of having a stable Club structure that includes Flag football and
the UK’s first version of pee-wee tackle football feeding
into a strong Youth set-up that looks to better itself in the tough
Scottish conference of BYAFA. With
strong links to the Glasgow University Tigers side the Seniors are
confident they have the base from which to build a strong push towards
success. Head Coach Derek Taylor returns for his third year in charge
and hopes to announce a stronger coaching set-up within the club
that will help them build on the 4 victories they picked up last
year. Club Spokesman Willie Clark
said “Coach Taylor is improving this team every year and the
extra positional coaching he has planned will help players at all
levels to have a successful season” NOTE:
The Tigers are looking for rookies and vets alike OF ALL AGES who
wish to be part of a forward-looking progressive club.
