TIGERS TRIUMPH OVER TITANSGlasgow Tigers 28 Manchester Titans 18
With the Manchester teams ground game eating up the yards quarterback James Keogh then fired in a pass to Ashley Tarran-Jones for the go ahead score, midway through the 2nd quarter. The Tigers defence stopped the conversion. A couple of drives later and the Tigers came back with a 27 yard pass from William McLauchlan to Barry Patterson. Robert Campbell connected with a pass to Ian Cochrane for the conversion and an 8-6 lead. The Tigers defence then held the Titans and on Glasgow’s next drive they marched up the field and Graeme Clee ran it in from the 3 yard line to put the Tigers further in front at 14-6. That’s how it stayed till half time. In the 2nd half it was the Tigers who went further ahead when QB McLauchlan fired a 50 yard bomb to Ryan Hunter. This gave the Glasgow side a 20-6 lead, but Manchester came right back with a long drive finished off with a James Lynch 4 yard run. This reduced the deficit to 20-12. The 4th quarter saw both teams tire in the heat and the Tigers were well placed to score after a 15 yard interception from linebacker Jamie McCansh. This gave offensive man of the match Graeme Clee (18 carries for 128 yards)a chance and he broke free on an 11 yard sweep to score his second TD of the day.
To their credit, the Titans never gave up and scored another rushing touchdown from Neil Cash to leave the final result 28 – 18 to the Glasgow Tigers. Tigers Head Coach
Derek Taylor said “This result will hopefully get our season back
on track, and I’m now looking forward to the next few games” |
